Norton Arts provides practical skills in self-protection and is NOT a martial art based program. By becoming a Certified Norton Arts Instructor in BASIC SELF-PROTECTION, you not only learn how to empower and protect yourself, but you also learn how to empower others to do the same. Our Violence Prevention Training in Self-Protection is unlike any other as it incorporates many aspects of Conflict Management, Situational Awareness, Personal Space Management, and Practical Self-Defence to name a few. It is ideal for school and workplace environments and is NOT martial art based instruction.

 

WHAT IS THE NORTON ARTS SELF-PROTECTION PROGRAM?

Let me ask you this... "Doesn’t it make more sense to learn the skills to prevent physical harm, than to solely react to circumstances?" - If you answered yes, then you are understanding the concept. Unlike reactional based martial art instruction in self-defence, we believe in a proactive approach by educating others in trying to prevent the physical. This is done so through teaching others how to better Identify, Avoid and Manage violence. Does it include the physical aspect? - Yes, it does, but it is taught through a practical approach while also adhering to the laws pertaining to the physical defence of self. Our focus is ALWAYS on trying to prevent violence but also facing the realities of it.
